The Fleet lined up at the Treharris Garage in the 1920's.

Jones Bros, went on to become local Vauxhall dealers, and expanded into Merthyr, with premises at Court Street, and a showroom in upper High Street.

I [Chris Taylor] have an original of this photo given to me by one of the Jones. Commercial Motor Services of Treharris was in the Hall-Lewis camp [ they were a coach and bus body builder from Park Royal in North London] for new vehicles. Hall Lewis were very interested in Thornycroft and Lancia chassis and supplied most of their customers in South Wales with these models. The line up shows both these types of vehicle.

The garage had recently, by the look of the fence posts, been re-positioned as the original road was at the rear. The garage is still on the same site.

Jones Bros.were best known for their Pontypridd - Blackwood service which was taken over, jointly, by West Mon, Gelligaer UDC, Pontypridd UDC and Caerphilly UDC in 1945, together with the vehicles.

Jone Bros went on to eventually become Volkswagen dealers and opened up in Cardiff.
