Alderman J.G. Davies J.P. was unanimously voted the Mayor-elect,

who represents the Cyfarthfa Ward.

Ald. Davies, who lived at No. 2, Lawn Terrace, Bethesda Street, Merthyr,

was a railway engine driver.
